The Office of the Montgomery County Executive has requested the formation of a Transit Task Force to make suggestions on how the County might implement a Rapid Bus Transit system.

Current estimates of the Transit Task Force predict that 25% of the cost of such a system would be covered by ridership fees.  The remaining cost of the system would be covered by an increase in private property taxes and an excise tax on commercial properties.

Part of what the Transit Task Force suggests is the establishment of an independent transit agency.  For full details on what else the Transit Task Force suggests read the Transit Task Force Draft report HERE.

The Greater Colesville Citizens Association needs to know your opinion on the proposals of the Transit Task Force.  After you’ve read the Transit Task Force Draft Report, please take a few minutes to complete the following survey by clicking HERE.
